-- May 8, 2007: CIA, Inc Sells Train Shows
Background of Greenberg's Train & Toy Show
Greenberg Shows was founded in 1976 by Bruce Greenberg for the purpose of promoting the hobby of model railroading and toy train collecting. Greenberg's Train & Toy Show is the oldest and most successful train show in the northeast, with over 25 shows per year in more than a dozen different venues. Greenberg Shows is owned by Train Show Inc., which is the largest promoter of train and toy shows in the world. Our staff has decades of model train show management experience.
Greenberg's Train & Toy Show is designed to be the premiere marketplace oriented train show. The show travels around the northeast, from Pittsburgh to Virginia Beach to Rochester to Boston. The shows feature large train and toy marketplaces, operating layouts and displays, workshops and demonstrations. The show offers free admission for children and hopes to encourage model railroading and toy train collecting.
Greenberg Shows is on its fourth owner. Following Bruce Greenberg, it was owned by Kalmbach Publishing and then Dave Swanson of Competitive Intelligence Advertising (CIA, Inc).
Greenberg Shows is currently owned by Randy Bachmann, president of Train Show Inc. Randy has over 20 years experience promoting model train shows. He worked for Great American Train Show until 2001 and since 2003 has been General Manager of the World's Greatest Hobby on Tour shows that have drawn more than 300,000 attendees over the course of 11 shows. He is a life-long model railroader and railfan as well as an experienced manager and business owner.
